Australia's consumer confidence improved during the week ended July 15, a weekly survey compiled by the ANZ bank and Roy Morgan Research showed Tuesday.
The consumer confidence index climbed to 121.5 from 120.1 in the preceding week. It was the first rise in five weeks.
The details were also positive with all sub-indices posting gains last week.
"We note that consumers' views towards future financial conditions have been trending lower since late June, although they remain above their long-run average," ANZ's senior senior economist, Felicity Emmett, commented.
"Given that the household sector remains a key risk to the outlook we will be watching this subindex over coming weeks."
