Tom Lee foresees Bitcoin soaring to $250,000

Crypto enthusiasts are on fire! As the new year approaches, the market is full of bold predictions for the price of Bitcoin. According to Tom Lee, co-founder of research firm Fundstrat, investors should increase their BTC holdings in 2025, as the regulatory environment is expected to be more favorable compared to 2024.

Lee predicts that Bitcoin will soar to $250,000 in the coming year. Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, is forecast to rise to $6,000 in 2025.

The expert believes that next year could see the so-called "altseason," where a number of digital assets, including the popular Solana, could deliver "exceptionally strong" results.

Earlier, Tom Lee anticipated that Bitcoin would reach $150,000 by the end of 2024. However, his prediction did not come true. The leading cryptocurrency peaked at $108,080 but failed to break above that level. Although the goal proved to be unattainable, Lee still sees the possibility of such a milestone in the long run.

Currently, Bitcoin is trading around $98,100. Notably, just before Christmas, the digital asset briefly hit the round $100,000 mark before retreating.

In November, Lee stated that he viewed Bitcoin as a potential Treasury reserve asset. The cryptocurrency could help offset the US budget deficit, according to the crypto enthusiast.
