Slovakia's producer prices rose 2% year-on-year in July, slower than a 0.8% increase in the previous month, data from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed Friday. Producer prices increased for the third consecutive month.

Industrial producer prices in the domestic market fell 0.7% annually in July, following a 1.9% fall in June. In manufacturing, producer prices rose 1% compared to 0.9% increase in the previous month.

While mining and quarrying prices increased 7.8%, compared to 3.3% rise in June, the price index for electricity, gas, steam and air-condition supply dropped 3.6%.

On a monthly basis, factory prices increased 0.7% in July, faster than 0.3% growth in June. For the first seven months of the year, producer prices decreased 1% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, the construction work prices rose 0.5% annually in July, but at a slower pace than the 0.6% growth in the previous month. Month-on-month, construction work prices edged down 0.1% and during the January to July period, construction prices grew 0.9% over a year ago.
