The Reserve Bank of Australia will on Tuesday release the minutes from its monetary policy meeting on May 5, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.

At the meeting, the RBA lowered its benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points to a record low of 2.00 percent.

Australia also will see March results for the leading index from the Conference Board; in February, the index was up 0.5 percent.

New Zealand will provide Q1 figures for producer prices; in the fourth quarter, input prices were down 0.4 percent on quarter, while output prices eased 0.1 percent.

Also, the RBNZ will release its two-year inflation forecast; the previous forecast was for an inflation rate of 1.8 percent.

Japan will release April data for department store sales; in March, overall sales were down 19.7 percent on year, while sales in the Tokyo region dropped 16.5 percent.

Hong Kong will release unemployment data for April, with analysts expecting the jobless rate to hold steady at a seasonally adjusted 3.3 percent.

The central bank of Indonesia will wrap up its monetary policy meeting and then announce its decision on interest rates. The central bank is widely expected to keep its benchmark rate steady at 7.50 percent.
