Crypto Industry News:
New York Governor Kathy Hochul has yet to make a public commitment to signing a controversial bill to ban proof-of-work (PoW) cryptocurrency mining, instead notes that her team will be "watching very closely" other suggestions over the next few months.
If signed, cryptocurrency mining operations supported by fossil fuels will no longer be able to set up points or renew existing licenses in New York State. Under the new regulations, only PoW operations powered by 100% renewable energy would be possible.
The New York State Senate, to the dismay of members of the crypto community, passed the bill on June 3, which means the fate of the bill is now in the hands of Governor Hochul, who has the power to approve or veto the proposed rules.
At this stage, it seems the governor has no intention of rushing the decision and may have higher priorities for the upcoming June 28 primaries.
Technical Market Outlook:
The down trend on the ETH/USD pair is still intact as the bears are approaching the last week low located at the level of $1,701. Despite the decreased volatility, the bearish pressure increases, so in a case of a breakout lower, the next target for bears is seen at the level of $1,420. In order to terminate the down trend, the bulls must break through the key short-term technical resistance located at the level of $2,199. The nearest technical resistance is located at $1,863 and $1,916.

Trading Outlook:
The down trend on the H4, Daily and Weekly time frames had broken below the key long term technical support seen at the level of $2,000 and bears continue to make new lower lows with no problem whatsoever. So far every bounce and attempt to rally is being used to sell Ethereum for a better price by the market participants, so the bearish pressure is still high. The next target for bears is located at the level of $1,420.
