Asian stocks surged Thursday, as oil prices had lost over 2% overnight, repealing its previous gains.
Crude prices ditched earlier advances as Brent crude closed at $44.63 per barrel and the WTI stood at $42.36 per barrel.
MSCI's index of Asia Pacific shares outside Japan gained 0.7%. Japan's Nikkei 225 closed at 20,110.51, down 0.14%. But South Korea's Kospi stood at 2,370.37, up 0.54%.
The Hang Seng index erased 0.13%. Shanghai and Shenzhen stocks lost 1.29% and 0.29%, respectively. Australian shares traded at 5,706, up 0.71%.
